Mission Statement

Because health, human dignity, security and economic prosperity are dependent on development today that does not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs, and because the local markets, societies and laws of the world are interdependent, it is the mission of Trailhead Perspectives to promote an understanding of sustainable development from a global perspective so that individuals and entities can advocate policies and take actions that contribute to sustainable, long-term results.

 

President / CEO
Andrew Crone

Mr. Crone is a licensed attorney in the District of Columbia and Wisconsin and holds a certificate in alternative dispute resolution from Hamline University School of Law. Previously, he was a Senior Faculty with the School for International Training Graduate Institute in their Master of Arts in Sustainable Development Program. Mr. Crone has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Hamline University and an undergraduate degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from Macalester College. He has secured corporate partnerships agreements for several international non-profit organizations. Mr. Crone is trained as a facilitative mediator and arbitrator. His legal research has focused on the application of sustainability measures in arbitration under NAFTA and the WTO in comparison to the inclusion of sustainability in other international treaties and agreements. He conducted an extended legal practicum with the Climate Change Group at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency where he wrote a legal memo for the state legislature on climate change rulemaking. While there, he also initiated a study into the use of state grants to encourage municipalities to incorporate sustainability measures into their comprehensive plans. He has lived and worked overseas for nearly six years including extended stays in Madagascar, Australia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He currently lives in Whitewater, Wisconsin with his wife and two children.
